Another original short story written by me in a child friendly vocabulary set in 1895, Jayne, the young lady of the house is attending a ball in the manor and waiting patiently for a young suiter to appear. There are various characters in the story and this could be used as an introduction to a long novel, Shakespearian or Dickensian literature in preparation for Grammar/ Secondary school. There are pages to read and discuss so I have included a powerpoint presentation followed by comprehension questions, writing activities and drawing conclusions. There is dictionary work and internet research.

This is the third in the series of My Colour Books for Early years and KS1 children. It is themed for Summer with colourful graphics. The tasks are to complete sentences using the correct colours, visual awareness is important and recognition of colours essential. There are also two wordmaps which could be laminated one on Seaside words and one on colours. These could be used as aids for writing ecxercises. The children will also be asked to complete some reading activities putting in a missing colour word, this will test understanding of what has been read. This can also be bought as part of a bundle.

This resource will raise the pupils’ awarenes of emotions and growth mindsets, working with partners discussing similarities and differences, looking at skills and ways to improve them, rules and punishments, conflict with peers and co-operation. The pupils will be asked to think about who helps them when their emotions are sad, angry or upset and what causes these emotions. Every child is unique, should disability mean different treatment. The animals introduce themselves and tell the children about their various roles on Christmas Eve. These little stories could be used for a Christmas class assembly. The follow up activities include writing and drawing activities, comprehension questions, a nativity wordmat,storywriting, poetry writing, newspaper reports and an internet activity.
